Best herbs to grow indoors – The best herbs to grow indoors are chives, cilantro, lemon balm, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary, and sage.

Watering indoor herb gardens – Make sure you water your herbs just when they need water. Overwatering will cause root rot. Look for dry soil before you water.

Containers for indoor herbs – Your pot type will play an important role on how well your herbs grow. Plastic and ceramic pots will hold more moisture than terra cotta, as it is more breathable. Your herbs will grow best in clay pots. You should look for pots with a drainage hole. Place a ceramic saucer at the bottom of your pot to catch any extra water.

Potting mix – When planting your herbs, buy a good quality potting mix. A potting mix designed for cactus is ideal for growing herbs as it allows water to pass through the soil quickly.

Fertilizing indoor herbs – Since your indoor plants will not get any nutrients from outdoor rain and soil, they will need fertilizer. Choose a liquid fertilizer and feed half of the recommended amount every other week.
